- 359-degree non-continuous tower rotation for precision light positioning
- Articulated hydraulic mast for flexible and quick light positioning
- 6 kW generator for periods of extended use
- Uses metal halide bulbs to provide high intensity light
The Terex AL 8000 is an 8 kW generator powered metal halide light tower with four metal halide lamps, a 28' (8.5 m) vertical height, 20' (6 m) horizontal reach and a 359-degree tower rotation for providing precision light positioning at work sites. The AL 8000 has (4) 1,000 watt, metal halide lamps on an articulated hydraulic mast for providing high intensity light with quick positioning. The light bar is capable of tilting 180 degrees for positioning the lights in a specific direction, while each bulb has an average lifespan of 5,000 to 10,000 hours, and can be individually adjusted using a simple spring clip.
Powerful Operation
The tower operates on a brushless 60 Hz 8.0 kW generator, with a Kubota diesel 13.6 hp engine, and a 30 gallon (114 L) tank which can provide up to 60 hours of continuous operation. The engine has an operational temperature range of -40 to 105 degrees F, and it is protected with standard high water temperature and low oil pressure shutdowns.
Safe, Weatherproof Design
The AL 8000 has an articulated hydraulic mast and the control panel is located inside the panel for safety and protection from the elements. It also has individual quick-connect plug-in ballasts installed in galvanized steel boxes for simple service and repair and one GFI duplex 20 A / 120 V receptacle, and one T/L 30 A / 240 V receptacle. The light fixtures plug into a waterproof box with UL and CAS approved connectors and are protected from the elements in the cabinet. The cabinet has a fade resistant finish for protection in the field.
Easy to Load and Transport
The AL 8000 has a standard 2" ball hitch for towing, a single point lifting eye, fork lift pockets for placement in difficult to reach job sites, and galvanized outriggers with pre-set position stops to ensure proper spacing. The light tower is set on (2) 15" wheels, weighs 2,605 lbs (1,812 kg) with no fuel, and has an axle rating of 4,200 lbs (1,905 kg) for towing on rough roads. Department of Transportation (DoT) approved tail lights are affixed to the back of the tower for safe transporation.
About Light Towers
Light tower units are used for illuminating event and work sites to maximize nighttime productivity and consist of a tower with a durable base and mast, with a set of lights at the top of the mast that can be rotated and positioned as necessary. Light towers are used for many different applications, including construction, mining, and sporting events. For industrial use only.
